“He better turn up soon… I’ve been unable to even do experiments without him around to try and stop me… what’s an honour student act without a delinquent trying to stop it?“
[♠] He stepped over to the gate as well, examining it closely. This might be the only gate standing between him and his husband. Of course, he was skeptical of the other, wondering if he was just leading Mao on, so he turned to ask;
”So are you telling me you think the Fake Hero will be nearby?”
"I believe so, yes…but I don’t know for sure..If you wish, I may continue to accompany you. But as I said, I do not recognize that human world.” He has no reason to lie. Anyone who knew him well would agree. But he does understand the lack of trust he may feel.
“That bastard must be travelling through dimension gates…! Do you have any clue how to track the usage of a dimension gate? Maybe I can track where he’s going, and where he is right now! Vampire as my newly dubbed vassal I demand your help in the matter if you don’t want to become just another specimen!”
“I will not accept being your vassal, but I will try to help somehow. We may go back to the human world I saw him in before leaving. I’m sure I could pinpoint which way he went from there.” And with that he straightened himself up before leaving with the young dean. This probably will take a while, but so long as he could provide some help he will try his best.
Eventually they made it to a forest, not too far from the human village. He continued onward for a while now until finally they made it to the Dimensional Gate. Walking over to it, he checked it out for a minute or so before turning towards Mao, “I don’t recognize this place but..it is another human world.”
“H-he wasn’t a teammate. He was a slave… a-a vassal, a peon. Overlords, demons, we don’t have teammates because that insinuates equality, and in the Netherworld there’s no such thing! The Overlord is just better in every way! However… as a dean, as the Overlord… I suppose I’ve surpassed any doubt that I’m the number one honour student… hey, you, vampire! You have any clue how I can track down that damn Fake Hero!?”
“I would help but that is beyond me. The last time I saw him he was in the human world I usually go to. But he’s been long gone since then. He’s pretty much been wandering about. So who knows. One may even question if he’s even alive or not from how much he isn’t paying attention to where he’s going. I tried asking him myself but he simply said he wanted to be left alone.”
[♠] He stammered over himself at the sudden appearance at the vampire. Of course, he had considered going to hunt for him, but his stubborn pride prevented it.
”Wh-what sort of demon goes looking for a h-hero!? That’s something delinquents do!”
“The very same demon who is concerned for not just some hero, but their very loved one. From what I’ve heard, the both of you used to be partners for a long time. To think a demon would consider having one as their teammate. Wouldn’t that hurt your love of the demon code? And here I thought demons were rebellious. So why bother with having a demon code? Just go after him and see for yourself. You are an Overlord after all. Shouldn’t you have some sort of idea as to where he is?..”
“Just shut up. I am not having this argument with some idiot prinny instructor.”
“You’re already showing signs of love at least. Just be careful on showing that to other demons. You know how they get, especially with news like that.”
“You don’t get to talk about rushing things mr. lets take over earth an the netherworld an does it.”
“That is something entirely different. Saying and doing those things are simple compared to how complicated ‘love’ can be. All I am saying is to be careful.”
